The diamond grits pre-brazed using an amorphous nickel (Ni)-based alloy were accurately fixed onto some positions on a steel substrate by resistance spot welding with a hot-pressing function. The amorphous Ni-based alloy thoroughly wetted and wrapped the diamond grits in the pre-brazing process. After the resistance spot welding, the pre-brazed diamond grits and steel substrate formed a strong metallurgical bonding under resistance heat and electrode pressure.
