5 Summary and Future Perspectives This review summarizes recent research advances in exploring MXenes as electrode materials in Zn-based electrochemical energy storage devices. In ZIBs, MXenes have been used as the surface protective layer to stabilize the Zn/electrolyte interface or as 3D supports of Zn to decrease the local current density.
