    Vernestra Rwoh was an instant fave of mine when The High Republic first started, so I was beyond thrilled when she got to be in The Acolyte. But a hundred years and a different medium can change a person a lot, so she does come off quite differently in the show. And here to bridge that gap is Wayseeker, a novel by Justina Ireland, who wrote the first Vernestra book (and many of her appearances).

    We got a double High Republic drop last week, with both A Valiant Vow and Wayseeker coming out on Revenge of the Sixth. The Wayseeker review is coming next week, but I read A Valiant Vow first. It's a worthy addition to the High Republic publishing project, giving us some really beautiful conclusions to character arcs started in Phase III, as well as ones started all the way back in Phase I.

    The High Republic publishing initiative is coming to a close (remember when it was Project Luminous? Fun times) and the most recent release was Claudia Gray's Into the Light, the last YA novel from the series. In this book you can find much of what you'll enjoy from Claudia Gray's other work in The High Republic- beloved characters like Reath Silas or Affie Hollow, high stakes and thick tension within a group trying to work together.

    It has now been a year since The Bad Batch ended, I thought it was time to reflect on the show, its characters and its stories a year out. When we first officially met the Bad Batch in The Clone Wars, I'll admit they didn't particularly excite me. I didn't dislike them (though I know some did), but this first impression of them made me feel like they were cool, but a bit one-note as characters.

    On Wednesday, Star Wars announced the brand new miniseries coming to Disney+ on May 4th, Tales of the Underworld. Assuming it keeps the same form as its predecessors, Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, we can expect to see three episodes on each of the focal characters- Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane.
