First look: Reiss introduces babywear

The gender-neutral collection, designed for zero to 24-month-olds, is made using premium cotton and cashmere, in a colour palette of lemon, grey and neutral shades. Key pieces include a cashmere hoodie and leggings set in mint and pink, a floral print romper and a balloon print set of sleepsuit, hat, bib and blanket. The collection has launched on Reiss's website with prices ranging from £24 for cotton sleepsuits to £120 for luxe cashmere blankets.

Read has spent more than 11 years at Rapha, most recently as managing director of UK, Europe, Asia Pacific and North America. During his tenure, the business grew its turnover from £20m to £200m in 2017. Prior to Rapha, he worked in various roles at tach giant Apple from 2008 to 2012 where he helped the company open stores across the world. In his new role at Tala, Read will report to CEO Morgan Fowles.

Cahill's departure comes after Wacoal Europe acquired Bravissimo, which sells bras, underwear and swimwear for women with a D cup and bigger, from its founder for an undisclosed sum in September 2024. She first joined the 27-store lingerie retailer in 2017 as finance director before moving into the role of managing director in 2018 and CEO in 2020, replacing founder Sarah Tremellen, who became chair. The CEO role will not be filled, as Bravissimo will be led by Wacoal Europe CEO Geoff Embley.

In a U-turn announcement earlier this week, US President Donald Trump granted a 90-day pause for country-specific tariffs. A 10% blanket duty on most US imports will stay in effect. However, the trade war with China has escalated, with US tariffs on Chinese goods amounting to 145% as of yesterday (10 April) while China has raised import taxes on US goods to 125%.
Naia Beach launches in John Lewis stores

Close friends Gayle Lawton and television presenter Tess Daly founded Naia Beach in 2021 after the pair struggled to find "swimwear that made us feel great on the beach". In summer, the brand will launch in six John Lewis stores including Oxford Street, Peter Jones, High Wycombe, Southampton, Leeds and Cheadle. It is currently available on John Lewis's website.
Zalando acquires tech firm DeepAR

The acquisition comes as Zalando has been implementing a range of 3D initiatives, such as 3D product images and its virtual fitting room, which launched in 2023. DeepAR will help accelerate the retailer's 3D roadmap by creating 3D assets at scale and incorporating 3D experiences across the Zalando platform. The tech firm will remain an independent company under the ownership of Zalando, the retailer said.

The refreshed 1,291 sq ft store has a wide double entrance and a window tower for product display, with integrated media screen. Inside, the space features glass display areas, hessian-coloured wall coverings and monogrammed seating in a colour palette of champagne gold and warm cream tones. The Stratford store, which reopened on 4 April, houses the brand's SS25 women’s, men’s and accessories collections.
Primark to upsize White Rose store in Leeds

Primark's plan to upsize from 26,200 sq ft to 55,700 sq ft comes as brands continue to focus on "better and bigger stores at the highest-footfall destinations across the UK", retail landlord Landsec said. It it the latest in a series of flagship investments at White Rose shopping centre after JD Sports tripled its space last year with a new 15,537 sq ft store. Works on the Primark expansion will commence today (7 April), with completion expected in 2027.
