The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and sunshine across the country from Monday to Wednesday. NiMet’s weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, predicted slight dust haze would be expected over the northern region, with the possibility of afternoon or evening thunderstorms in parts of Adamawa, Taraba, and Kaduna States.
Gunmen kill father, two sons in Plateau

Gunmen have stormed Zogu village, Miango District, Bassa Local Government Area in Plateau state, killing a father and his two sons. The spokesperson of Irigwe Development Association, Sam Jugo, revealed that the attack was carried out on Saturday. Jugo revealed the names of the victims to be Weyi Gebeh, Zhu Weyi, and Henry Weyi. Jugo said the trio were killed while they were asleep.

The mortgage bank, when in place, will provide sustainable housing finance for residents. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two brothers: John Abugu, 43, and Kenneth Abugu, 31, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA Ikeja, Lagos with 5kilograms cocaine concealed in walls of their suitcases while attempting to board a flight to India. The two brothers were arrested at the Lagos airport on Thursday 3rd April 2025 following proactive processing of credible intelligence.

Former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Omololu Olunloyo, is dead. News of Olunloyo’s demise was confirmed in a statement issued in Ibadan on Sunday morning by Mr Oladapo Ogunwusi, on behalf of the deceased’s family. Olunloye, who was governor of Oyo State between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 1983 on the platform of the then National Party of Nigeria (NPN), died a few days to his 90th birthday.
Police rescue 14 Benue Links passengers kidnapped in Otukpo

The Police Command in Benue, on Friday rescued 14 passengers of Benue Links, kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Thursday evening in Otukpo LGA of the state. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Sewuese Anene, made this known in a statement, in Makurdi. Anene said that the bus was attacked on April 3, around Otukpo Burnt Bricks area, leading to the death of the driver and one passenger. She said the armed kidnappers thereafter took away the remaining 14 other passengers to an unknown destination.

The appointment takes effect from 3rd April, 2025 and is in accordance with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) Act 2008 as amended.
