The defending champions defeated the Queen’s Gaels tonight 63-55 to lift the Critelli Cup for a second straight year. It’s only the team’s fourth OUA championship in program history, but the win means a lot to head coach Dani Sinclair. “It feels good,” Sinclair said. “I’m just really happy for the athletes.”One of Sinclair’s athletes played 39 of the game’s 40 minutes.

Ottawa, ON – The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees men’s basketball team won the Capital Hoops Classic for the first time in four years. The 71-61 victory against the Carleton Ravens is just the fourth time Ottawa bettered their rivals in the 17 matchups at the annual game. For forward Brock Newton, the rare win meant a lot to him and the team. “There’s a lot of Carleton on that trophy, but it felt nice to put Ottawa on it this year,” Newton said.

Ottawa, ON – The Carleton Ravens women’s basketball team ascended from the ashes of a scarce unfathomable first half to overcome their crosstown rival, the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees, with a 78-72 win. The closing minutes consisted of everything you could’ve asked for. With the Ravens up three points, guard Dorcas Busia dived for a loose ball. As she slid across the floor, her outstretched arms wrapped around the ball, gripped ever so tightly that the Gee-Gees could not strip it away.

KINGSTON, ON – After a long nine years, Montreal finally has their crown again. The University of Montreal Carabins defeated the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds 16-9 to win the 58th Vanier Cup. With seconds to play, UBC had one last chance to tie the game inside their own 20-yard line.
