The Redding mayor’s appointments to the Planning Commission are typically routine affairs with his or her picks seated by unanimous votes and handshakes all around. Tuesday’s City Council meeting featured exactly none of that. Mayor Jack Munns’s effort to appoint Joshua Johnson and Blake Nance to four-year terms turned into a rancorous affair that ended with a 2-2 stalemate.

By Brad GarbuttI am not a fan of clams. You will never see me order a bucket of steamed clams. Same with Linguine with clam sauce, and mussels, crab or crayfish. But clam chowder, that’s another story. My first exposure to clam chowder was as a teenager in SoCal when my parents would take me to a seafood restaurant called Delaney’s, a chain that originated in Huntington Beach. There was some secret spice in that chowder that made it special; so special I would always take a quart to go.

Tom Toller, Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters wishes to inform the public and the media the election results were updated on November 22th at 6:30pm on our website. We will release the next update on November 27th at 6pm. Voters who receive signature verification letter requesting additional information must cure their ballot by December 1st. Instructions on how to respond to the request are included in the signature verification letter.
