Founded in 1997 and overseen by Anthony Kershaw, Audiophilia has become a leading online magazine for audio and music journalism. Anthony, a highly regarded classical musician from Canada, has showcased his talents as a flutist and conductor with some of the top ensembles across Europe and North America. He studied at Trinity College of Music in London on a Commonwealth Scholarship, where he was honored with the Chamber Music Prize—presented by Sir Yehudi Menuhin—and the Guild Prize for being the best wind player at the conservatoire.

    This classic DG Boston recording was one of the first classical LPs I purchased with my “pocket money” from the famous “The Coop” in Harvard Square during one of my many visits to family in Boston. It was released in 1971, and I listened to it incessantly concurrent with my love affair with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, especially its fabulous flute section—I had begun playing the flute a year earlier. I was already set on becoming a professional player, god willing.

    Having recently reviewed the superb Infigo Audio Method IS-1 Cryogen Streamer, I continue onward here with a review of their high-end Method 4 Digital to Analog Converter (DAC), USD 35,000, which I had used, along with other DACs, in the Streamer review. Hans Looman (CEO/Founder of Infigo Audio) kindly sent this expensive DAC for review, along with the Streamer. It arrived inside a special three-level packing box for shipping a Method 4, well wrapped in a silk cloth.
