Bernama

The Malaysian National News Agency, known as BERNAMA, was established in 1967 through an Act of Parliament and began its operations in May 1968. To ensure BERNAMA adheres to its founding principles, a five-member Supervisory Council is appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Management of BERNAMA falls under a Board of Governors, which is also appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. This board consists of a Chairman and six representatives, with equal representation from the Federal Government and newspapers that subscribe to BERNAMA. Each representative has an alternate member who is similarly appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
