Wickes has named the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) as its charity partner for the next two years. By May 2027 the DIY retailer aims to raise £2m for the suicide prevention charity across its 228 stores, support centre, distribution warehouse and suppliers. Fundraising includes till and online donations from customers, bake sales as well as team challenges such as mountain hikes and bike rides.

Investment banking firm Morgan Stanley is offering 10 good causes £100,000 each to fund ways to improve young people’s health, mental wellbeing and education. The awards are to help “scale pioneering projects, connect ideas with capital and build capacity for charitable organisations” and are being offered through its inaugural EMEA Impact Through Innovation Awards.

TSB Bank is working with youth gambling charity Ygam to help young people combat financial risks they face when playing games online. Nearly half of 2,000 young gamers surveyed by the bank say they “have little or no control over their spending” while playing. The bank also found that while the average game costs £32, gamers are spending on average £540 annually on in-game purchases and subscriptions.

Investors in Europe are rowing back on environmental, social and governance (ESG) investments following a raft of anti-climate change and anti-diversity policies being brought in by American president Donald Trump, research has found. The analysis released in the US by financial research firm Morningstar has found that Europe suffered its first slump in ESG investments since 2018, of £900m during the first quarter of the year.

Domestic abuse survivors’ charity Refuge has been selected to be the next charity partner of the Skipton Building Society. The charity was chosen following a vote of the building society’s members at its AGM. The partnership runs for three years and will focus on helping the charity to tackle financial abuse suffered by survivors. “We can’t wait to support their incredible work delivering financial freedom for survivors of domestic abuse,” said the building society.
