The diversity of charity trustee boards is not in line with that of the wider population, new research has found. The data, published in a large-scale report by the Charity Commission and Pro Bono Economics, found that over half of trustees are retired, which is more than double the proportion in the general population. It also found people aged 44 and under make up only 8% of trustees, and just 1% overall were aged 30 or under.

The London Landmarks Half Marathon has raised a record £14m for charities. Over 20,000 runners took to the streets of London yesterday, 6 April, for the annual event, which began eight years ago. The event has now raised a grand total of £67m for charities since the race first began. This year’s race included the first ever ‘Tommy’s Wave’, with over 2,000 runners creating a sea of pink, running and fundraising specifically for pregnancy and baby charity Tommy’s, the owners of the event.
New corporate partnership launches to assess quality across Age UK network

A new partnership has been launched between BSI and Age UK to help support the charity with the deliver of quality assessment services. The business standards and improvement company will provide an externa quality assessment programme for all Age UK organisations against the Age UK Network Charity Quality Standard (CQS). The Age UK network includes 118 local Age UK partners, as well as four national partners – Age UK, Age Scotland, Age Cymru and Age Northern Ireland.
