It’s game on for Kesari - Chapter 2. For the film to do well at the box office, it needed to show jump over its Friday collections of Rs. 7.84 crores. Since it was a partial holiday of Good Friday then, typical Saturday growth wasn’t going to be very easy and just maintaining similar numbers as Friday would have been the usual trend. However, the Akshay Kumar starrer is expensive as well as prestigious and hence had to do much better than the usual trend.

After collecting Rs. 4.27 crores on Thursday, Jaat needed to have a good hold on Friday to be assured of a decent second week as well. Had this been a regular Friday with Kesari - Chapter 2 as competition, the film would have been happy to find itself in that Rs. 3.50-4 crores zone. However Good Friday partial holiday meant that Rs. 4 crores was assured for the film and anything on top of that would have been added bonus.

Given the genre of the film and the fact that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to bring audiences in theatres these days, one expected a fair opening of Rs. 6-7 crores to come in and then word of mouth taking it through.
