A few weeks back, I reached out to who writes the amazing publication (go check it out if you haven’t yet!) to meet up for coffee. I just moved to San Francisco from New York, and I was hoping to make a new friend and chat Substack stuff with Madison. Little did I know that Madison did the exact same move (for many of the same reasons – which I’ll get into in a reflection piece soon!) just around 6 months ago, so she had a lot of wisdom to share.

Good morning! I hope you’re having a good week. I don’t know about you, but I am TIRED. I had been meaning to write this post all week, and then I spent most of last night flipping between the Karen Read docuseries on HBO (thanks for the rec) and Pinterest, and all of a sudden it was late and I hadn’t written anything.

Hi! Iām writing to you from gorgeous San Francisco this week. Actually, itās been quite chilly (definitely colder than NYC), but itās beautiful nonetheless. This week, Iām sharing a few fun things on my mind, including brands on my radar (for good and bad reasons) and some photos from the city. Maybe not for the exact right reasons, but fragrance brand Boy Smells has been on my radar for the past few days ever since their rebrand went viral for flopping.

Hi hi! Iām back from Portugal and hustling through a busy week. New York continues to be kind of cold and/or gray most days, but thatās going to change soon. (It will! It has to! Iām telling myself.) Iām excited to share todayās issue with you āĀ itās a fascinating conversation with Isadora Sales, Head of Marketing & Creative at Freaks of Nature. If you havenāt heard of Freaks of Nature yet, just know that Iām obsessed with them.

I’m scrapping the usual Brand Bite of the Week format to talk about something that’s been on everyone’s minds this week: tariffs. I know, I know, you’ve probably read a lot about tariffs this week. If you’re tired of the discourse, I don’t blame you! It’s been a tumultuous week. Log off, touch grass, etc. But if you’re interested in how brands are responding to the tariffs and communicating about what the tariffs mean for them, then sit tight – that’s what today’s Brand Bite is all about.
