Captain Jim Nivens was honored by Branson Fire-Rescue at Fire Station 4. The Corps announced staffing shortages and safety issues are resulting in changes to the way they will be serving the public around Table Rock Lake and Table Rock Dam. “The district is prioritizing efforts to maintain safe, high-quality experiences for all guests,” the Corps said in a statement.

Billy Long was confirmed as the new Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service after a 53-44 vote along party lines in the U.S. Senate on Thursday, June 12. Long was the representative for Missouri’s 7th District from 2011 to 2023. His confirmation ends one of the highest-profile Senate-confirmed vacancies in the Trump administration. The agency had gone through four acting commissioners before Long’s nomination and approval.
