Reservations for Sunday brunch will continue through summer, with final brunches being served on July 20, July 27, and Aug. 3.

    The Blue Eye School District has named its 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year. English Language Arts (ELA) teacher Katie Miller was chosen for the honor for the impact she has made within the school district. High School Principal Roger Cavener reflected on Miller’s journey in education, having known her since she was a student. “Mrs. Miller was a junior high student of mine, 20 years ago, and now I have the pleasure of having her teach for me at Blue Eye High School,” Cavener said.

    Big Cedar Lodge will kick off summer on Memorial Day weekend with a variety of activities for the family. The lodge, located at 190 Top of the Rock Road in Ridgedale, will honor those fallen during the Vietnam War with a memorial wall which will be available for viewing from May 23 through May 26. The wall features the names of 55,000 lives lost in service to their country during the conflict.

Johnson was chosen to the Springfield Business Journal’s 2025 Class of Men of the Year.The annual award honors men across southwest Missouri who demonstrate outstanding leadership and impact in their communities and professions. Johnson was honored at the recognition event, hosted by the Springfield Business Journal on Thursday, April 24.
