The American Red Cross is asking community members to donate blood and to help save lives. The organization will host its Camp Do Good blood drive at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Friday, May 23. The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at the Parish Center, located at 202 Vaughn Drive in Branson. Those who give blood at Red Cross blood drives between May 19 and May 31 will receive a limited edition Red Cross solar lantern.

The Missouri Department of Conservation will host an aquatic plant hike at Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery this weekend. The hike will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at the Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Education Center, located at 483 Hatchery Road in Branson. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about Missouri’s native aquatic plants and the roles they play.

Several Blue Eye School students placed at a recent Southwest Conference League (SWCL) Art Competition. The competition took place on Saturday, April 26, at the Blue Eye Middle School. The high school artists earned a total of 22 ribbons: 11 first place, six second place, three third place and two honorable mentions.
