The Musical), Emmy Award nominee Lea Michele (Funny Girl), and Nicholas Christopher (Sweeney Todd) as Freddie Trumper, Florence Vassey, and Anatoly Sergievsky, respectively. Opening in fall 2025 at a Shubert Theatre to be announced, Chess will feature a new book by Emmy Award winner Danny Strong.

The Musical back in 2019, the then-fledgling performer was cast in a supporting role. But even at that time, Rogers imagined herself playing the title part, Betty Boop, a cartoon character from nearly a century ago brought to real life in the present day. “It just seemed like something that was up my alley,” Rogers remembers.
