Bronxnet
BronxNet offers practical training in television production, access to equipment, and broadcasting channels specifically for residents of the Bronx. The award-winning programs from BronxNet connect the community with the important issues, neighborhoods, and activities that define the borough. High school and college students can gain valuable experience for future careers in media, both in front of and behind the camera, through BronxNet’s Training Program for Future Media Professionals. You can watch BronxNet programs on channels 67, 68, 69, 70, 951, and 952 on Optimum, as well as on channels 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, and 38 on Verizon Fios throughout the Bronx. The concept for BronxNet was developed by committed Bronx officials who collaborated with local residents to establish a fully equipped television station and media center that would be available to community members, students, organizations, and leaders. BronxNet began broadcasting in July 1993 and has been based at Lehman College since its launch. In 2015, a second state-of-the-art facility opened at Mercy College in the Hutchinson Metro Center, and a third site is planned to open in the South Bronx in 2019.
