Full disclosure, I don’t give a fuck about comic book movies anymore save for maybe Deadpool. I don’t care about Fantastic Four or Superman or the new Ironheart show I plan to be skipping when it releases on Disney+ (I’ll take me ten more seasons of Daredevil though). No, I only cared about two major non-animation events taking place later this year, the release of Alien: Earth on Hulu and Predator: Badlands in theaters from Dan Trachtenberg (throw in the new Tron while you’re at it).

OverviewFed up with not feeling like she belongs, Meg enlists in a training program for a mission to Mars. CutawaysSantaOur TakeFor anybody hoping for a truly Family Guy take on The Martian where we get an entire episode of Meg trying to survive the horrors of Mars, let me save you a lot of trouble, none of that happens. OverviewTina, Gene and Louise strike it rich in the illegal snack business at school. Our TakeThe episode is called “Snackface” to allude to the fact that this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers focuses on an illegal drug snack ring with a special brand of chips at the center ergo a pastiche of Scarface.

OverviewBeef discovers the thrill of stunt fishing. Our TakeThis week’s episode of The Great North written by Drew Hanks is another stab at trying to get Beef a vacation because the single father of a thousand is a hard-working son of a bitch that definitely deserves some alone time. In this case it’s alone time with a team of stunt fishers that we learn have a big catch already on board that makes everyone on board suspected hardened criminals.
