PHNOM PENH – Naval forces are to conduct a live-fire exercise to enhance defense capabilities from June 11 to 13 in the Gulf of Thailand. “It is just a normal training of our naval forces, as the Royal Navy,” Ream Naval Base commander Mey Dina said. “The purpose is to improve our capacity in using weapons, not specifically focus on any issue.” The drill would involve two warships and 50 personnel and will take place between Koh Tang and Koh Paulo Wai.

PHNOM PENH – San Kimsean, grandmaster of traditional martial arts kun lbokator, passed away on June 3 at the age of 80 after a heart attack. Ou Dara, deputy secretary-general of the Kun Lbokator Federation, confirmed his passing. Kimsean was born in Phnom Penh in 1945. From the 1950s, he was involved continuously in Khmer martial arts, and regarded the krama as a powerful self-defense weapon in the art.
