Canadian Yachting
Established in May 1964 by J.W. Kerr, along with Jim Wilson, President of Canada Electric, and James Wilson, President of the Canadian Electrical Contractors Association, Kerrwil has become the longest-running privately owned publishing company in Canada. As we look ahead to the next 50 years, we are excited about the involvement of our new generation of team members. Our founder, Jack Kerr, set our mission very clearly: "We will prioritize being a member of the industry above being a publisher." This principle has set us apart from our competitors. By leading the industry, questioning the norm, and focusing on future growth, Kerrwil has earned a strong reputation in the Canadian publishing sector and has become a vital partner in the industries we support. J.W. (Jack) Kerr instilled in us these principles for success: to be a valuable resource for the market and to recognize that any publication and its related platforms are always evolving towards perfection.

From the airport, I headed to the Regatta Village in Port de Plaisance. Wednesday being ‘Day 0’ was registration day of the Regatta.

Oct 12, 2023One of our primary duties here at OnBoard is to chronicle the weather and its effect on the collective disposition of the boating community. It’s probably not helpful to point out that last week here in Ontario we had the AC on while this week the furnace is chugging. And haulout is Saturday, likely in driving rain. Is this fair? You’ve heard it all before of course.

Our typical summer includes hanging out at the marina in Goderich while using our boat as a cottage, enjoying the company of dock mates. For a few weeks each year, we typically cruise the North Channel and Georgian Bay in search of picturesque anchorages. This past summer, we added an additional activity: we took in a classic in-water boat show.
