The largest field in the Asian Poker Tour’s 19-year history showed up to Taiwan for the Main Event in Taipei, and it was a player from Japan who took home the lion’s share of the record-setting TWD 121,033,440 (~$3.7 million) prize pool. Akira Takasugi is the man who stood on top of a field of 2,547 entries. His largest cash before this came for finishing 20th in this same event in 2023 for $13,000. He had about $29,000 in cashes before popping this big balloon.

Online poker sites in Pennsylvania have started to share its player pools across state lines, giving the only online poker network in the United States the largest member in terms of population. WSOP Online and BetMGM began sharing its players yesterday after Pennsylvania became the sixth state to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA). That leaves PokerStars and BetRivers as the sites that are still fencing in their players in the Keystone State.

Tens-of-thousands of poker players are getting ready to descend on Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker, and United States citizens planing to get there by airliner need to know they can no longer pass through airport security with their state-issued driver’s license alone. Starting May 7, travelers will either need to have obtained a Real ID, or carry with them any of number of other forms of identification. They are: State-issued Enhanced Driver’s License. U.S. passport. U.S. passport card.

The World Series of Poker Circuit series will return to Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City for the first time since 2020 this summer. The WSOPC stops in Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City Aug. 14 through Aug. 25. Harrah’s Atlantic City was one of the first stops on the World Series of Poker Circuit tour when it started in 2005, and it remained in the schedule for 15 years until the COVID pandemic changed everything.
