The World Series of Poker announced this year’s nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame, and only one person will follow last year’s inductee Patrik Antonius into the Poker Hall of Fame in a few weeks. The current 35 living members of the Poker Hall of Fame will have another tough decision to make when assigning their 10 points between those of this year’s class, which include new nominees Nick Schulman, Scott Seiver, and Phil Galfond, and all the others.

Some things in life come easy. Nick Schulman’s seventh World Series of Poker bracelet wasn’t one of them. Schulman was the final player standing in the $10,000 No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven Single Draw Championship, adding $497,356 to his $23.7 million lifetime tournament cash pile. He also won this very event in 2009 and 2012.

Koon again showed why he is one of the best high-stakes tournament poker players in the Universe at the World Series of Poker yesterday by winning the $50,000 High Roller event which came with the largest prize of the summer so far — $1,968,927. The 8-handed event attracted 171 entries who built a prize pool of $8.1 million.

The World Series of Poker Online cancelled its $250 Mystery Bounty tournament after “technical difficulties” gave players who made the second day restart of the day fits. While some players were completely locked out of the online room, others were able to compete in different tournaments on the site even as the $250 Mystery Bounty event was on its way to cancellation during its second-day restart where a top bounty of $100,000 was up for grabs.
