    Manitoulin OPP is looking for information relating to a break and enter where numerous items, including firearms, were stolen from a residence on Old Webbwood Road in Espanola. Constable Berkley Parisian says the break in took place around 1:30 pm this past Saturday with several items stolen, including firearms. According to the release, the scenario included a simulated hypothetical dam failure at the Quirke Mine site in Elliot Lake that activated the City’s Emergency Operating Centre and involved coordinated efforts from BHP, the city, and emergency fire, police and medical responders.

    Algoma Public Health has issued hundreds of suspension orders for students who have not kept their immunizations up to date. Candice Carter, manager of the immunization program, says 549 suspension orders have been issued to high school students across the Algoma region this April, with 140 students ultimately facing suspension for failing to keep their immunizations up to date. She says the suspensions can last for as long as 20 days.
