She spoke about the RHOAR Center in Middlesboro, which offers women in recovery a place to stay and receive treatment in a supportive environment. Wallace shared that she was in recovery herself for over ten years now.

Government, business and other leaders from across the county attended the meeting to brainstorm ideas that will be used for set goals for the county and its communities.

Published 3:12 pm Monday, April 21, 2025 Construction is set to begin soon on new CTE buildings at both Claiborne and Cumberland Gap high schools. Bob Oakes and Daniel Satterfield shared information about the planned buildings during the April Board of Education meeting. Oakes said the building project has gone through some hiccups and ups and downs over the past couple of years, but they are excited to announce the project is ready to move forward.

The event in Claiborne County was held on Monday at the Tazewell Municipal Park and featured proclamations from Claiborne County Mayor Joe Brooks, New Tazewell Mayor Stan Leonard and Tazewell Mayor Bill Fannon.

Published 3:43 pm Friday, March 28, 2025 The New Tazewell Municipal Airport has grown considerably since it first opened as the Claiborne County Airport in the early 1970s. From its origins as a tiny dirt strip in the middle of an old cow pasture the airport now boasts a mile-long lighted runway, a rotating beacon, a partial parallel taxiway, 24 T-hangars, and a large maintenance hangar adjacent to an office/conference room/lounge area.
