Government, business and other leaders from across the county attended the meeting to brainstorm ideas that will be used for set goals for the county and its communities.

Bob Oakes and Daniel Satterfield shared information about the planned buildings during the April Board of Education meeting. Oakes said the building project has gone through some hiccups and ups and downs over the past couple of years, but they are excited to announce the project is ready to move forward.

From its origins as a tiny dirt strip in the middle of an old cow pasture the airport now boasts a mile-long lighted runway, a rotating beacon, a partial parallel taxiway, 24 T-hangars, and a large maintenance hangar adjacent to an office/conference room/lounge area.
