CNBC Africa is a television network that serves Sub-Saharan Africa. It was established on June 1, 2007, by CNBC in partnership with Africa Business News (Pty) LTD and is based in Sandton, Johannesburg. The channel offers a variety of programs and news updates from CNBC's global affiliates, including those in Europe, the Middle East, India, Pakistan, and the United States. To mark its launch on June 1, 2007, CNBC Africa aired a special one-hour interview with Thabo Mbeki, who was the president of South Africa at the time.
