Coffee Review was established in 1997 by Kenneth Davids and Ron Walters. The idea behind it was straightforward: perform blind taste tests of various coffees by experts and share the results through 100-point ratings, similar to the wine review system. They also aim to educate coffee enthusiasts with detailed tasting notes and informed insights. Since its inception, Coffee Review has grown to be the most widely read and respected coffee buying guide globally. In 2015, it attracted over one million coffee fans. The significant developments in the specialty coffee scene over the past eighteen years have been captured and often predicted through our numerous reviews and more than two hundred tasting reports and major articles.

The Top 30 Coffees of 2024 list is our editors’ ranking of the 30 most exciting of these coffees, representing roughly 1 percent of the samples we cupped and 5 percent of the coffees we reviewed. This is the 12th year we have compiled our Top 30 list.
