Today was a big day for several reasons. Gracie graduated from middle school. She is headed to high school in the fall, and I am inconsolable. And also completely over the moon excited for her. And also devastated. And also so damn proud of her I could just squeezeherleetlecheeks. Michael went to the dentist by himself. Due to questionable scheduling by his irresponsible parents, neither Chris or I could take him to his dentist appointment today.

On Friday, I was so excited to go to work. My entire team took the day off so that they could extend their three-day weekend to a four-day weekend, which meant I had hardly anything on my calendar. And since I’d been sick most of the week, I had a lot of tasks that had piled up. I was ready to put my headphones on, blare tunes from my new Spotify playlist called Rose All Day, and get some stuff D.O.N.E. Unfortunately, halfway to work, my gas tank hit empty.

Tonight after dinner, Chris and I went to Home Goods to noodle around. How very grown up of us. It was a school night, after all. At least, I think it’s still a school night? Who knows anymore. God bless teachers right now.

I love Sundays. Sundays are for lazy household chores in our house. Laundry fills the house with the smell of fabric softener, the dishwasher whirls all day long because we seem to have an endless supply of dishes in my house, and we vacuum around sleeping dogs. Add in a late afternoon dip in the pool, an everything shower with fresh shaved legs, and clean, crisp sheets on the beds and it’s impossible to have Sunday scaries. Mondays are maybe my favorite day of the week. Which is weird, I know.

Last weekend, Chris and I got up and going early on Saturday to support student performers from his theater at a park downtown. The performances are part of a series of theater for young audiences (that’s the industry Chris works in) that brings performances to downtown Orlando. We’ve been to the past few of them in the past month or so, and they are all so adorable. Students perform in the big, giant shell in Lake Eola Park, which is an icon landmark in Orlando.
