Creston Valley Advance
The Creston Valley Advance is a weekly newspaper located in southeastern British Columbia. Originally launched in 1948 by Alex Carruthers under the name Valley Advert, it was published twice a week until 2003. Since then, it has been a weekly publication that caters to the communities of Creston, Erickson, Lister, Canyon, Yahk, West Creston, and Wynndel, along with the East Shore of Kootenay Lake.

After nearly four years of growing a tight-knit fitness community in Creston, Iron Soul Fitness is moving out of the basement and opening a new door. Gym co-owners Jordana Champagne and Brent Evans are expanding both their space and their services after taking over the old fire hall building. The couple first launched Iron Soul in April 2021, offering boot camps in Centennial Park during the pandemic. By September of that year, the gym had opened its first brick-and-mortar location.

Updated Elk Valley RCMP apprehended a man in distress in downtown Fernie on May 8. Police intercepted a 48-year-old man, after receiving a report that he was en route to the Elk Valley Hospital with a firearm in his possession, threatening to shoot himself. The hospital tipped police off. Officers were quickly dispatched to find the man. Sgt.
