Crux Now
G.K. Chesterton once noted that while “Catholic doctrine and discipline may be walls; they are the walls of a playground.” At Crux, we aim to create that playground, where diverse voices in the Catholic dialogue can engage, be respected, and have their perspectives valued, without any bias from the outset. Our mission is to serve as a comprehensive resource for top-notch Catholic news, insights, and commentary. Launched in September 2014 as part of the Boston Globe, we have since evolved into an independent Catholic media outlet, collaborating with the Knights of Columbus and receiving support from various advertisers, Catholic organizations, institutions, and individuals. We focus on important topics, such as religious freedom and the persecution of Christians globally, but our coverage spans the entire spectrum of Catholic life—what we like to call “All Things Catholic,” inspired by editor John L. Allen Jr.’s Sunday column. Thank you for being a part of the Crux community. We hope you enjoy exploring our playground!
