There are so many Mexican eateries in Los Angeles, and indeed right here in Gardena, that finding the perfect spot can sometimes feel like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. It is hard, in fact, to find a truly bad one. Most of them are decent at a minimum. But to find the place that you just want to keep going back to again and again, to take friends and family from out of town when they’re visiting – that’s the real challenge. We think Cervecta might just be that spot.

The Culver City Police Department released a statement on Tuesday, May 20, reporting on an incident that occurred at about 1:45 a.m. that morning. “Officers attempted to stop a stolen black pick-up truck near Sepulveda Blvd and Jefferson Blvd,” they said. “The driver failed to stop and within seconds accelerated to approximately 70 miles per hour, ran through a red light, lost control, and crashed near Green Valley Circle—flipping onto its side and shearing a light pole.

Acoustic, melodic pop-rock band Waldo Bliss are back at the Cinema Bar on Thursday, a year after we last chatted, and singer Dan Carlson told the News about what they have planned this time……It’s been a year since we chatted — how was your 2024? Any musical highlights? The musical highlight for us in 2024 was opening for The Fifth Dimension at The Coach House. They didn’t have all the original members but they still had the energy that made them awesome. It was a great night.

The Mark Morris Dance Group was formed in 1980 and gave its first performance that year in New York City. The company’s touring schedule steadily expanded to include cities in the United States and around the world, and in 1986, it shared its first national television program for the PBS series Dance in America. In 1988, MMDG was invited to become the national dance company of Belgium and spent three years in residence at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels.
