    A man is behind bars in Tupelo after being accused of arson. On May 25, authorities say they were called to Wayne Drive in reference to an alleged arson. When they arrived, they found an unoccupied home that appeared to have been intentionally set on fire. Christopher Malone, 45, of Clarksdale, was arrested and charged with first-degree arson. On Wednesday, a Tupelo Municipal Court Judge ordered Malone to be held without bond. These charges will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.

    Four people have been arrested after methamphetamine and cocaine were allegedly found during a search. The arrests came when deputies executed a narcotics search warrant at 15 Old Creek Road in Picayune. Gregory Cook, 64, Christy Lynn Poyadou, 43, Andre Maurice Thomas, 60, and Tesla Lynn Weed, 26, of Picayune were taken into custody as police conducted the search warrant.

    A Pontotoc County man has been arrested after being charged with multiple drug charges after narcotics deputies allegedly seized a felony amount of methamphetamines. Officials say that it happened in the Redland Sarepta Road area of Pontotoc County that Randy Allen Taylor, 45, was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia along with several misdemeanor violations and booked in to the Pontotoc County jail.

    Jackson – Thomas Michael Reed of Hattiesburg has been appointed to the Office of Circuit Judge for the 12th Circuit Court District, which serves Forrest and Perry counties, by Governor Tate Reeves. This appointment fills a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Robert B. Helfrich. “Michael’s years of experience prosecuting criminals and trying cases will serve the 12th Circuit Court District well,” said Reeves.
