A Hattiesburg man is facing a long list of felony drug charges after a search warrant was executed by the Hattiesburg Police Department’s Special Operations Division on Wednesday, May 7. Investigators raided a residence in the 200 block of Park Avenue and arrested 56-year-old John Hudson without incident. He was taken into custody and booked into the Forrest County Jail.

The Jackson Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on May 7 in the area of Holden Street. Authorities say a male victim was shot and killed, and detectives are now working to identify multiple individuals captured in surveillance images who are considered persons of interest in the case. The photos of these individuals have been released to the public in hopes that someone may recognize them and assist law enforcement in moving the investigation forward.

Early in the morning on Tuesday, May 6, Deputy Garrett Gray and his K9 partner Hanz apprehended a burglary suspect after a foot chase through a wooded area. At approximately 2:30 a.m., the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a break-in at a home. Deputy Gray and K9 Hanz responded to the call. As they arrived, the suspect jumped from a window and took off on foot into a nearby wooded area.

A Jackson man has been arrested in connection with the vandalism and attempted theft of air conditioning components behind a local business. On May 2, 43-year-old Clinton Pierre Jr. was taken into custody by the Jackson Police Department and charged with Malicious Mischief and Possession of Burglary Tools, both felonies. Investigators say Pierre entered the rear area of a business located in the 1000 block of McDowell Road, where he damaged an outdoor air conditioning unit by cutting copper pipes.
