Is there a maximum speed limit for '(Shake Shake Shake) Shake Your Booty' by KC and the Sunshine Band? If so, this DFS commercial almost breaks it. To promote said retailer's winter sale—you know the festivities are over when brands say winter has come—agency Pablo and director Will Wightman hit a bum note in the best way possible.

Jackie Bao directs a beautiful spot for Tommy's, the charity that knows all too well that "pregnancy loss is a lifetime of loss". Imogen Harrison's pensive, humanistic direction makes the moment when another delay threatens to break Jessica for good even harder to take.

Over Christmas and New Year, DAVID read 'You May Never See Us Again: The Barclay Dynasty' by Jane Martinson. After that tale of offshore havens, tax avoidance, and family conflict, he feared the worst from this Aviva commercial about succession. His fears about father and daughter restaurateurs Gino and Gina were unfounded, though. The story of how Gina inherits the family business is supported by more of the clever visual effects viewers have come to expect from this campaign.
