    After Pope Francis’ death on April 21 at age 88, the world mourned his loss. After nine days of mourning, it was time to choose his successor. While the Cardinals weren’t able to reach a vote at first, causing black smoke to come out of the Sistine Chapel’s chimney, they eventually came to a decision, leading to white smoke coming out of the building. The bells sounded, confirming the choosing of a new pope. This sent people in St. Peter’s Square into waves of joy, and they cheered and applauded.

    US President Donald Trump took to his platform, Truth Social, to announce that he wanted to reopen the infamous Alcatraz prison which closed in 1963. The prison housed countless notorious criminals, including Al Capone, George “Machine Gun” Kelly and James “Whitey” Bulger. The reopening of the prison can add more burdens on the taxpayers, which is far from convenient.

While it is highly unlikely that the satellite will crash into people, the chances are never zero. What was supposed to capture data from Venus’ surface is now stranded, out of control, in Earth’s orbit and is set to crash onto Earth’s surface. The Soviet Satellite Kosmos 482 was launched in March 1972 to land in Venus’ orbit.
