Well, after months and months of floating in a state of flux, it looks like we finally know what’s going on with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Barring any late changes of heart, the latter seems destined to join Real Madrid, with the other two staying on Merseyside. Excellent news. Not quite perfect, but it could have been much worse. Look, I’d love to deconstruct what happened against Fulham, I really would. The people want answers. But football is a stupid sport sometimes, and I’m really not sure how much you can legislate for stepping on a rake three times in 14 minutes. Liverpool lost their first Premier League away match of the season on the weekend, ending their 26-game unbeaten run with a 3-2 defeat at Craven Cottage, despite scoring the first goal of the contest.
