DownTheTubes started as a platform for those looking for comic artists and writers, but it has grown significantly over the years to provide news, interviews, and other features related to British comics. Over the last two decades, many contributors have enriched the site, including myself, John Freeman, Jeremy Briggs, Matthew Badham, Peter Duncan, Antony Esmond, Alex Fitch, Joe Gordon, Paul Mount, Colin Noble, Morgan Spiceman, Tim Robins, Richard Sheaf, Owen Watts, Ian Wheeler, Steve Winders, among others.     John  is the founder of downthetubes, launched in 1998. He is a comics and magazine editor, writer, and Press Officer for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He also runs Crucible Comic Press. The changes in technology in recent decades and the increased access to archival material via physical examination or electronic replication has allowed a massive shift in the way that television and film has been researched, studied and presented.
