DOWNTOWN EXPRESS

Downtown Express is the newspaper serving Lower Manhattan, originally established as Battery News in 1987. Following the September 11 attacks, we transitioned to a weekly publication to better report on the neighborhoods affected by the events. Our dedicated coverage has earned us top honors for community service and leadership from both the National Newspaper Association and the New York Press Association. We remain committed to reporting on the ongoing redevelopment of the World Trade Center site and have received several awards from the NYPA for our editorial work, as well as our coverage of local government, business, the environment, and in-depth stories.
