Edible Monterey Bay

Edible Monterey Bay is part of the cherished Edible Communities network, which includes over 70 award-winning magazines across North America, each managed by local owners. Our goal at Edible Monterey Bay is to honor the diverse food cultures of Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey Counties throughout the changing seasons. We are committed to sustainability and believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious, clean, and affordable food. Understanding the origins of our food is vital, and we aim for our magazine, website, and events to encourage readers to connect with and support our local farmers, fishermen, chefs, winemakers, and food artisans.

June 20, 2025—A fiery reawakening happens today, Friday, June 20, when one of 2024’s top three new restaurants begins anew. Solstice will do that with a four-course tasting menu on the table (see below for menus) and its wood-fueled hearth at its heart. The Big Sur spot made its debut last July, then closed for a winter and spring stretch of retooling and improving.
