But in order to do that, you first have to get to your destination. The unofficial start of summer is also one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. AAA estimates that 45.1 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home between May 22 and May 26. That’s an increase of 3.1% from last year—and sets a new Memorial Day weekend record.
