The European Society of Surgical Oncology, known as ESSO, was established in 1981 with the goal of improving the methods and practices of surgery for cancer treatment. ESSO organizes scientific conferences, professional exchanges, and seminars to promote the best surgical care for cancer patients across Europe. The organization also seeks to encourage teamwork among different medical specialties in the treatment of cancer patients.
