eSafety Commisioner

The eSafety Commissioner (eSafety) serves as Australia's independent authority dedicated to ensuring online safety for all citizens. eSafety takes the lead in coordinating efforts related to online safety across various Commonwealth departments, agencies, and authorities. We also connect with important international stakeholders in the online safety realm to enhance our effectiveness beyond national borders. Our operations are guided by the Enhancing Online Safety Act 2015 (Cth), but our scope has significantly expanded since our inception. Julie Inman Grant currently holds the position of eSafety Commissioner. To guide our initiatives, eSafety has established a clear Mission, Vision, and set of Values, along with a flexible strategic planning framework covering the years 2019 to 2022.
