Amundi will liquidate a trio of ETFs as part of its ongoing “product range maintenance process” including the multi-strategy smart beta fund with which it entered Europe’s ETF market. The Amundi Index Equity Global Multi Smart Allocation Scientific Beta UCITS ETF (SMRU) will cease trading on 16 January. The fund, which tracks the SciBeta Developed Multi-Beta Multi-Strategy ERC Net Return index, was Amundi’s first ETF in Europe.

Allfunds has appointed ex Global X CEO Luis Berruga as senior advisor ahead of the launch of its white-label exchange traded product (ETP) platform in 2025. Berruga (pictured) was previously CEO of $39bn ETF issuer Global X and spent a decade at the firm. He is also the founder and managing partner of boutique investment firm LBS Capital and a board member at KraneShares.

This month we met Tony Yousefian, portfolio manager at Becket Asset Management. We visited Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen and Bar, a restaurant where dishes like beef wellington or traditional fish and chips might be popular choices. However, we both decided on salads instead. Yousefian chose a chicken Caesar, while I went for a poke bowl, complemented by some olives and bread to share – a decidedly healthy choice.

HANetf’s North American energy infrastructure ETF will go from synthetic to physical replication after it can no longer secure “consistent swap counterparty support”. The Alerian Midstream Energy Dividend UCITS ETF (PMLP), which seeks to replicate the performance of the Alerian Midstream Energy Dividend index, provides exposure to the liquid, dividend-paying portion of the North American infrastructure market through the use of swaps.
