    There are a lot of new subscribers here, so here is your invitation to casually unsub if you can’t remember why you’re here or if you got accidentally signed up via whatever Substack is doing when you sign up for someone’s newsletter and end up clicking things and getting auto-added to all their friend’s newsletters too??     The last time we did “big travel” for Christmas was 2021. We thought it was Nick’s dad’s last Christmas, we liked the idea of our family and Nick’s brother’s family descending on the childhood home for one final holiday. Or I should say, Nick liked this idea and I sort of hoped for some magical option where I did not have to pack up everyone and drive them 7 hours to Ohio but where we still got to be together.

    Polly turned three over the weekend. We got her the following birthday gifts:Doll bed - This is my first kid to love baby dolls/dolls and I find it very sweet. She goes to a home daycare where there are a few tiny babies that she spends time with all day, I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. But she has slept with her doll in this bed in HER bed every night since she got it. Working sink toy - This toy is inexpensive and so engrossing. Polly loves using the sink.
