UFI MEA conference coming to Egypt in 2025

UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has announced that the 2025 UFI MEA (Middle East & Africa) will be held in Cairo, Egypt. Hosted by the Egypt Expo and Convention Authority (EECA), the event will bring together leaders from across the exhibition industry to Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Center, 28-30 April 2025. Held annually, the UFI MEA Conference serves as a platform for collaboration within the region and beyond.

German trade fair group Messe Düsseldorf has signalled its intention to intensify its international activities with the establishment of a new corporate division, ‘Global Corporate Development and Strategy’. Claire Steinbrück will lead the new division from the New Year and joins the management board of Messe Düsseldorf reporting directly to the president and CEO, Wolfram N. Diener. Steinbrück is an experienced leader in the international trade fair business and joins from Koelnmesse GmbH.

GL Events in exclusive negotiations to acquire Saudi Arabia’s Add Group

Integrated event management group, GL Events has announced it has entered into exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of 51% of the capital of Add Group in Saudi Arabia. A non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to that effect has been signed that would see the Riyadh-based event organiser join the GL Events portfolio. Add Group has been operating for over 10 years with a diversified client portfolio and had a turnover exceeding €90m in 2023.
Informa completes deal to combine its B2B digital business with US-listed Tech Target

International event and exhibition organiser Informa has announced the completion of its agreement – originally announced in January 2024 – to combine its Informa Tech’s Digital Business with US-listed TechTarget. Key highlights of the completed deal include the combination of 220 specialist technology media brands and a permissioned first-party audience of 50m+; listing on the Nasdaq exchange, with Informa Group owning 57% of the equity.
