The biggest non-sports news from the last few days was the Trump administration’s decision to dramatically increase tariffs on imports from roughly 90 different countries, over 40% in some cases. The White House says this is policy is “reciprocal” and meant to incentivize manufacturing to return to the United States.

This has always been a tension, but one thing I’m taking away from conversations in the college athletics industry this year is that everybody is focused on trying to find ways to increase their athletic department revenue. High major. Mid-major. D-III school. Everybody. Part of that, of course, is the expected revenue sharing obligations as part of the House settlement.
