A lack of political will, a reluctance to invest in nature, and a failure to engage with the communities living with the everyday realities of climate change have brought us to this point. Most of the so-called ‘Aichi Targets’ – adopted in 2010 in order to address global nature loss – have not been met. Losing biodiversity isn’t just an environmental disaster though.
