I’m still feeling inspired by Senator Cory Booker’s record breaking Senate speech this week. As a historian, I am so glad Strom Thurmond’s racist, segregationist record has been broken. Not only that. In Wisconsin, Susan Crawford, who ran on a record of liberal stances, won against her conservative opponent who was backed by Elon Musk to the tune of $20 million. The world’s richest person literally tried to buy a state supreme court election and lost bigly.
