Connie Shepherd, of Paxton, Illinois, departed for Heaven May 29th at 2:40 pm. She was surrounded by her family and one close friend. Connie was 76. She was born on July 23, 1948, in Watseka, Illinois. Connie is survived by son, Tony Aericko of Paxton, IL and daughter Gina Staska (Bob) McGregor of MN, as well as five grandchildren, Stacia Staska, Billy Staska, Anthony John Aericko, Lilith Aericko and John Anthony Areicko, one great-grandson Colt Aericko.

WATSEKA — The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office released the following list of recent activity: n Larry Holder, 50, of Cissna Park, was arrested after sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a sex offender in a public park in the area of Second and Garfield streets in Cissna Park on Wednesday, May 28. Upon arrival, deputies confirmed that Holder is a registered sex offender and required to stay away from public parks. Holder was located in the 300 block of West Garfield Street.

GIBSON CITY — During a special meeting on Monday, June 2, the Gibson City Council met in closed session to discuss the employment, compensation or performance of city employees, approved an upgrade of city software, made payroll adjustments and decided on the locations of 10 decorative planters.
