    Cherine E. Anderson has co-produced some of Broadway’s biggest recent hits, from Hell’s Kitchen to the star-studdedrevivals of Gypsy and Our Town. Her latest venture is Othello—the hugely anticipated Shakespeare revival starring Fordham’s own Denzel Washington. But Anderson, a 1986 Fordham grad and longtime Broadway promoter, initially didn’t even think it was possible for her to be a producer.

    The Super Bowl is always an occasion for a bit of Fordham spirit, especially when the NFL presents the winning team with the Lombardi Trophy—named after legendary NFL coach and proud Fordham grad Vince Lombardi. But this year, the Ramily was treated to a double dose of pride when law school grad Howie Roseman—general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles—lifted the trophy following the team’s 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on February 9.

    Governor Kathy Hochul announced a plan to restrict cell phone use in New York schools during her budget address Tuesday. The proposed state budget for fiscal year 2026 includes a $13.5 million line item to create phone-free K-12 schools, a policy Hochul said would “transform our classrooms” while improving student mental health and academic performance.
