Fulcrum7

Fulcrum7 serves a dual mission: to share information and uplift individuals, especially those within the Seventh-day Adventist community. We believe that God has entrusted us with the task of supporting and motivating others, especially as we approach challenging times. Even in an unpredictable world, you can find refuge in God's mercy and truth, as highlighted in Psalm 57:3. Our aim is to guide you toward these essential qualities of God.

Friday brought another blue sky day. On the way to the venue, I stopped and bought some Hershey ‘Kisses’ for the booth. We like to spell out F7 with kisses on the table, and have people answer a Bible question before getting a kiss (Hershey, of course). As Hans Deihl would say “You can have one kiss.”There was a panel with Gwen Shorter and Danny and Yvonne Shelton. It was very good, covering the testimonies of the ladies.

When I was a boy, Dad would often say “The Church is only fifty years behind the world.” He meant that the (Anabaptist) church would accept things that the culture accepted fifty years ago. And he saw that as a bad thing. As I get older, I am inclined to agree. But what did he mean by the church? Is it a building where people meet together? Is it an institutional bureaucracy? Is it a corporation? Is it an organization? Is it the people themselves, the Bride of Christ?

The Michigan Conference Executive Committee met yesterday for their regular February 11 meeting. The meeting began at 10:30 AM. Some people didn’t leave unto 11 pm. Big day. The topic of Ron Kelly’s employment was discussed, and Ron himself was brought in to the meeting. After listening to Ron Kelly for a couple hours, the MISDA Committee voted 13-2 to terminate his employment. ****I’m genuinely sorry Ron and the Village Church had to go through this.

Pastor Brent Hawkes of The Metropolitan Community Church in Toronto, Canada, thinks that calling Jesus "Savior" is offensive to people of other faiths and the title should be removed from the church. He also thought marrying gay men was fine, even before it was legal in Canada. That certainly helps explain this heretical nonsense. Canadian pastor and LGBT activist Brent Hawkes says Christians referring to Jesus Christ as “savior” is offensive to other religions. Even Canada’s churches stink. Wow.

In an era where the message of unity and love is desperately needed, the persistence of racial separation within the church stands as a glaring contradiction to the teachings of Christ. The Apostle Paul proclaimed, "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28).
